inmex-plasticizing unit for Engel
The start-up inmex will be presenting its energy-efficient plasticising technology at FAKUMA 2023. These are plasticising units for injection moulding machines which can be retrofitted independently of manufacturers and which feature a heating system integrated into the cylinder, thus saving up to 62% of heating energy.

The highlight: the system does not require conventional heating tapes; instead, the heating elements are integrated into the cylinder. This leads to an optimal heat transfer, which not only increases the energy efficiency but also the heating time enormously. The slimmer design enables complete insulation of the cylinder, which is encapsulated on the outside to prevent damage from overmoulding. In addition, the innovative system leads to a more homogeneous heat distribution in the cylinder, which results in a more uniform melting process.

The plug-and-play system thus offers numerous advantages with very little changeover effort. The injection moulder does not have to make any changes to his machine control, temperature profile or settings. The screw and nozzle can continue to be used and the plasticising unit has the machine-specific interfaces, i.e. identical plugs with identical configuration.
